Missy Maddox-Fehrenbacher & fa Special Man March 1, 2010

Thinking of all of you. Just heard the news this evening & my thoughts & prayers are with all of you. He will forever be a positive memory of my childhood. He always had a smile on his face....even we unconvienced him the most by being typical teenage girls. He will be missed. He was a special man.

jackie koehl knobloch a note from an old friend March 1, 2010

Dear Cathi,   I read about the passing of your husband and just wanted you to know that I extend my sincerest sympathy.  High School was a long time ago, but I do remember your vivacious smile and take hold of life attitude.  I am hoping that you will find comfort in your family, friends and your God.   May God bless you as you adjust to this great loss.

sincerely, Jackie Koehl Knobloch

Cathi, words can't express how very sad I am about Jeff's passing and your loss. He was such a wonderful and amazing man. I have so many fond memories of the times spent with you and him over the years and feel extremely fortunate to have known him. He was truly a hero and touched so many people's lives. He will be sorely missed. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Lynn Uphoff Love February 28, 2010

Cathi & family,
Jeff was such a wonderful guy! When I heard of his passing I could just hear him saying Patrick Swayze's line in the last scene of the movie "Ghost", "Love, it's the one thing you can take with you when you die." No doubt, he had no idea how much love he would be taking with him. We worked together for 13 years on the JS Spelling Bee, and I'll always remember him for his kind heart and the love he shared with the world. May you find peace and comfort in the love he has left in your heart. God's peace and comfortl!

Norma Bader Two brave people February 28, 2010
My admiration for Cathi & Jeff began when we were briefly neighbors.  This admiration has only grown over these past years as mutual friends told me of their courageous struggle.
John Wingate Great friend and mentor February 28, 2010

Jeff was an inspiring leader who brought out the best in his students at ISU, and later at WEEK where many of his former students ended up plying their trade in broadcast journalism.  He was a trusted friend with a great sense of humor and wit. He was a gentle leader who motivated and gave us wings. God bless Cathi and the family. Their love and devotion over these many years has been and remains an example for all.

Jeff is restored, healed and perfect now with God.  Part of his legacy is a large community of friends who go forward to honor him and try to measure up to his very large example.  We love you Hawk.  See you again, brother.
